As you will all (obviously everybody will read this) learn, one of my passions in life is sports. I grew up as the "hoss" (Register, 1983) on all of my athletic teams. I am also finishing up my Masters in Sports Management in 65 days. I'm obviously not counting down. :) I grew up as a fan of the Miami Hurricanes. When you are finished scowling at that statement, please understand I grew up in South Florida pre Steve Spurrier and pre South Florida having such dominant sports franchises such as the Florida Marlins and Miami Heat. As I have been at UF for 6 years now, I truly bleed Orange and Blue. I didnt think it would happen, but I am a Gator through and through.
Since last March, the University of Florida has owned college sports. The basketball team won a title, the football team won a title, we have had 5 different teams hold a #1 ranking this year, and the basketball team has recently earned the #1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament.
I will use this blog to talk about everything in the world of gator sports....from Joakim Noah regaining his form, to Melanie Sinclair's Perfect 10's on the uneven bars (did I just write that?), I will try to touch on as many topics as I can. Go Gators!

Pick,
I know it was weird for you to talk about the gymnastics team...but have you actually been to one of their meets? They are pretty incredible...you would be surprised how many fans they get. The highest attendance this year at a gymnastics this year is 6,074 people. They are the third most attended sport at the University of Florida (Bryan Flood, 2007). Watching Melanie Sinclair on the bars is a pretty amazing thing. Gymnasts are some of the most talented athletes I have ever seen. Since your not back from Spring Break though, you will miss the final meet of the season...tonight, O'Dome @ 7:00 PM.
Brus, you need to talk about how our lady gator softball team ended TWO 20+ game winning streaks this past week when they handed #1 Tennessee (23-1) and #2 Alabama (25-1) their first losses of the season.
Excellent in-text citation in your last post. I'm pretty certain "hoss" was my first word when I was a few months old.
I know you didn't just call the marlins and heat dominant. That couldn't have just happened. First of all, you have to a)make the playoffs 2 consecutive years and b)not conduct a fire sale after each of your world series titles if you want to be considered a dominant franchise. So the marlins are out. The Heat are pretty good, but let's be honest, they should have retired the franchise after last year. They're all so old and, with the way wade plays, expect to see him getting injured a lot in the next 10 years, if he makes it that long.
I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that you, in fact, have not been to a gymnastics meet this year.
Post again, you brus. Peace.
Grant
